TENA ProSkin brings incontinence care and skin health together

The TENA ProSkin range includes both absorbing and skin care products designed to provide support to maintain skin health when caring for someone with incontinence. Cleansing products ensure that elderly skin is gently cleansed, while the barrier cream provides the skin with an extra protective layer. At the same time absorbent product designs reduce moisture and help maintain the skin’s natural microclimate. To ensure our products do what we say they do, one of the tests we have developed is the TENA skin moisture test. This unique testing method measures the interaction between product and skin, and has been endorsed by the University of Southampton.

We’ve spent a lot of time working with healthcare professionals with the aim of improving the skin health benefits of our products. Ultimately we believe this will help provide better care for the elderly. Our research shows that four main issues affect the skin health of those with incontinence: length of time of contact with incontinence products; repeated use; wetness levels; and skin sensitivity. Fragile ageing skin needs special attention and the TENA ProSkin range has been developed by our 300-strong research and development team to care for its specific needs.
